David Rheins

I tell stories. With words, photography, art and music, I create content that captures attention, evokes emotion, and motivates action.

As a pioneering digital media and marketing executive for world class brands such as Rolling Stone Magazine, AOL/Time Warner, Bill Gates’ Corbis Corporation and SPIN Magazine, I have led innovation at the intersection of content, commerce and technology.

As a trained journalist, with a double major in Journalism and English from Indiana University’s Ernie Pyle School of Journalism, I have written extensively for print and digital media, covering marketing, media and cultural trends.

As the founder of the Marijuana Business Association (MJBA) , I have helped create the one of the country’s fastest growing industries – organizing hundreds of meetups, networking events, professional education seminars, job fairs and panel discussions across the country. I have interviewed many thought leaders and entrepreneurs for MJNews Network and my podcast Marijuana Channel One.

As a singer/songwriter, I’ve penned more than 150 song with Indianapolis-based creative partner Tim Brickley and his band the Bleeding Hearts (we have released two indie music CDs: 1995’s “Be Apart” and 2005’s “Everything That Ever Was “, with plans to release a double LP soon). Be sure to check out the Rheins/Brickley music archive here. As a marketing consultant, I have build hundreds of websites, presentations, and digital engagements that drove meaningful results. I look forward to creating compelling content for you.

Thank you, David Rheins

  12. Just read your long ago essay on C.A.R. that was linked to from the CAR RPCV Facebook page. I could relate. Excellent essay. Many of the themes you reflect on were true for those providing technical assistance, as well. In my case, beekeeping.

  13. Thanks Adam — So glad to hear that you liked the story. I think my experience was fairly common, and am happy that some of it resonated with you. Where did you serve? Would love to read/hear more about your service.

Thanks again for stopping by. Hope to see you here again soon.

  14. David. I did end up subscribing to the blog so may check out some of the future posts. You sound like you have an interesting background and we share a passions for music (shameful aside, I’m seeing Lady Gaga next week at Madison Square Garden).

I served from 1988-89 in a small village called Maorka between Kaga Bandoro and M’bres. Doesn’t look like you have a Facebook account but if you ever join there is a group of RPCVs who served in CAR.
