Marsupial Beds

I come to you at night

When the air is solemn

I slit you open

At the belly

So I can crawl inside you

Like a marsupial

A furry pouch is just

Right to snuggle into

The perfect place

To grow up

The kangaroo is awkward

As an adult animal

He has this enormous body

Which makes him clumsy

Climbing into other

Marsupial beds

Sheets get in the way

Or he stumbles in the fold

He prefers sleeping

Like an infant in the womb

To beating about in the bush
